The Deputy President, DR. William Ruto and his UDA party has been receiving defectors who are joining them since the party was formed. The DP has received a number of aspirants from different parts of the country, men and women alike. The party, as young as it is, has managed to bring together young and experienced politicians under one roof to fight for a similar course. The most prominent politicians to be attracted to the party include Musalia Mudavadi of ANC, Moses Wetangula of Ford Kenya among other defectors who believe in UDA and subscribe to its ideologies. I sampled images of female politicians the DP has received in UDA and below are some of the images I managed to collect. (Note that all images are sourced from Google)
Loise Kim: an award winning Kenyan gospel musician whose songs are in vernacular ‘Kikuyu’. She recently declared her interest in politics, joining Ruto’s UDA to pursue her interest.
Ann Waiguru: the second Governor of Kirinyaga County in Kenya, who has been in office since 22 August 2017. She defected from Jubilee and joined UDA where she will run to retain the Governor’s seat in Kirinyaga.
Tabitha Karanja: She is the founder and current Chief Executive Officer of Keroche Breweries, the first large brewery in Kenya owned by a non multinational company. She recently declared her interest in politics and joined UDA party.
Gathoni Wa Muchomba: Peninnah Gathoni Muchomba popularly known as Gathoni Wa Mucomba is Kenyan entrepreneur and politician. She is the Kiambu County Women representative in the bicameral Kenyan parliament. She was a member of Jubilee party but recently defected to join Ruto’s UDA
Wangui Ngirici: Hon. Purity Wangui Ngirici is the second Women Representative of Kirinyaga County. She joined UDA, was received by the DP but later defected to become an independent candidate. Some critics however believe that Ngirici is silently working with Raila and Uhuru’s Azimio la Umoja.
