Devolution CS Charles Keter resigns from office to run for Kericho Governor through UDA

CS for devolution, Hon. Charles Keter has today tendered his resignation to focus on Kericho Governor’s seat in the forthcoming August elections. According to the Kenyan Constitution, any person who holds a public office and wishes to run for a political seat, should resign from that office six months before the date of the election.
Keter, in his statement, thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for nominating him into the cabinet office since the year 2015.
Hon. Keter served as the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum until 2018 when he was appointed to the energy portfolio where he says he oversaw tremendous positive change. Keter has served in the ministry of devolution since October 2021 to date.
Politically, Hon. Keter was elected to represent Belgut Constituency in the National Assembly in December 2007 National elections.
